Content Provided by Douglas County Colorado

Have you been waiting since spring for your chance to explore some of Douglas County’s most exclusive properties?

Be sure to plan to visit the future site of Macanta Regional Park and Rueter-Hess Reservoir this fall, winter or spring. We know our citizens aren’t afraid to get outdoors in all seasons — that’s one reason Douglas County was named the Healthiest Community in the U.S. this year.

The schedule of monthly, guided hikes at these beautiful Douglas County locations is now available. The first hikes are Saturday, Sept. 28 at Macanta and Saturday, Oct. 5 at Rueter-Hess with additional visits to both locations planned through April 2020.

Join knowledgeable Douglas County staff as you blaze new trails on these scenic properties. Hikes are three to four miles and typically take about three hours to complete.

Online registration for each month’s hikes will open the second Wednesday of the month prior to the hike date and close three days before the scheduled event. Space is limited to 15 participants per hike, so sign up early.
